The NCN26010XMNEVK Industrial Ethernet Evaluation Kit includes everything you need to demonstrate the NCN26010 Industrial Ethernet transceiver using a Raspberry Pi single-board computer (not included). NCN26010 A 10Mb/s IEEE 802.3CG-compliant device that includes a media access controller (MAC), a PLCA coordination sub-layer (RS), and a 10BASE-T1S PHY designed for industrial multipoint Ethernet.

     The onsemi NCN26010XMNEVK Industrial Ethernet Evaluation Kit includes everything you need to demonstrate the NCN26010 Industrial Ethernet transceiver using a Raspberry Pi single-board computer (not included). NCN26010 A 10Mb/s IEEE 802.3CG-compliant device that includes a media access controller (MAC), a PLCA coordination sub-layer (RS), and a 10BASE-T1S PHY designed for industrial multipoint Ethernet.

 

     The NCN26010 provides all the physical layer functions required to transmit and receive data over non-single shielded twisted pair cables. The Onson Semiconductor NCN26010 Industrial Ethernet transceiver communicates with the host MCU through the Open Alliance MACPHY SPI protocol.

 

     The NCN26010XMNEVK Industrial Ethernet evaluation kit includes the NCN26010XMNEVB evaluation board and the NCN26010BMNEVB adapter board. The NCN26010XMNEVB evaluation board contains all the circuits required to enable the board to act as a 10BASE-T1S MACPHY node when connected to a host or microcontroller board via SPI.

 

     The evaluation board features a pre-installed NCN26010 and two RJ45 connectors for connecting twisted-pair data cables. For ease of use, the standard Cat5 Ethernet cable can be connected to the RJ45 connector. NCN26010BMNEVB Adapter board supports connecting this evaluation board to the Raspberry Pi SBC.

 

     To monitor SPI traffic, the NCN26010XMNEVB evaluation board features a 0.1" spaced pin row for easy access. The connector can also be connected to a logic analyzer to track SPI signals when used in conjunction with the Raspberry Pi.
