ON Semiconductor's Connected lighting platform enables the rapid development of smart LED lighting solutions

     ON Semiconductor, which drives energy efficiency innovation, introduces a connected lighting platform that leverage the company's expertise in Power over Ethernet (PoE) and ultra-low power Bluetooth low power connectivity and AC-DC and DC-DC power conversion design.

     The prototype platform enables the engineering team to explore and innovate in the field of connected lighting, making lighting devices part of the Internet of Things (IoT). The connected lighting platform includes a variety of connectivity forms for LED control, including reliable Bluetooth Low Power and power over Ethernet provided by RSL10 SIP. It offers up to 90 watts of output power and offers two separate channels, each of which can supply and control up to 16 leds. This energy-efficient modular platform, combined with a Bluetooth low power switch for energy harvesting, also enables the development of battery-free LED lighting applications.

     Comprehensive software tools support the Connected lighting platform, including an integrated development environment (IDE), a variety of use cases and mobile applications. The platform can Control leds wirelessly if you use the RSL10 Sense and Control app (available for iOS and Google Play) or the Web client. After installing the app, firmware updates using the RSL10 FOTA app (iOS, Google Play) can be easily sent.

     In addition to this platform, On Semiconductor has also developed PoE modules for high-power wired connections. Based on an IEEE 802.3Bt-compliant NCP1096 interface controller, the extended platform delivers nearly 90 W of power and can now be transmitted by Ethernet cables.
