ON Semiconductor unveils innovative technologies for smart home and IoT at CES 2020

     The rise of voice control and voice user interfaces (VUI) has made audio processing critical to enabling a variety of building automation and home applications. On Semiconductor will present two demonstrations, using the LC823455, that provide key features of portable acoustic solutions and support for VUI. A Strata-enabled stereo speaker capable of streaming music over Bluetooth will showcase a variety of advanced audio features, including touch sensor-based volume control and voice commands. The LC823455 will also be used in cloud-based VUI demonstrations to communicate with IoT edge node applications.

     Connected lighting has the highest growth potential in smart homes and buildings, driven by new features that include lighting as a service and reduce energy consumption. The connected lighting platform is a highly energy efficient solution for developing industrial LED lighting applications. The platform will offer Bluetooth low-power connectivity supported by RSL10 System-level Package (RSL10 SIP), as well as Power over Ethernet (PoE) for high-power wired connectivity, which will demonstrate dimming and on/off capabilities. The Connected Building demonstration will further showcase more low-power solutions that combine Zigbee™GreenPower, energy harvesting switches, and smart passive sensors to demonstrate a completely battery-free wireless solution with environmental awareness and control.

     On Semiconductor's IoT expertise also extends to vision systems such as smart doorbells, augmented reality (AR)/virtual reality (VR)/mixed reality (MR), home network (IP) cameras, and wearables. The company's demonstration area showcasing the technology will showcase a variety of smart imaging capabilities, including a high-performance 4K sensor with four on-chip high dynamic range (HDR) exposures. For battery-powered security cameras, On Semiconductor will demonstrate a low power 4 megapixel (MP) HDR solution. An anti-fraud facial recognition demonstration based on the AR0237IR CMOS image sensor and Ambarella CV25 Artificial Intelligence (AI) system single-chip (SoC) takes video surveillance to a new level of security, proving effective both day and night.
