ON Semiconductor uses Veridify technology to provide secure end-to-end Bluetooth low power solutions

     ON Semiconductor, driving energy efficient innovation, announced that Veridify's Public Key security tool is immediately available for RSL10, the industry's lowest-power, flash-based Bluetooth low-power radio system single-chip (SoC). Veridify Security's tools, available in the form of CMSIS-Pack, provide developers with a familiar and fast implementation path to secure their RSL10 scenarios, providing them with critical security features, including device-to-device authentication, data protection, and secure firmware updates.

     The RSL10 radio family has built-in security features, including AES-128 encryption hardware modules, and to provide intellectual property (IP) protection, the debugging interface can be locked to prevent potential intruders. These "on-processor" capabilities complement Veridify's technology to provide identification, authentication, and data protection between devices in the field. RSL10 radios running Veridify's public key tool can exchange their signed public keys, verify the identity of the public key owner, create a short-lived shared secret, and then use that shared secret with the AES128 engine to encrypt data between the device and its users.

     Devices running Veridify Security tools such as RSL10 can take advantage of DOME™, Veridify's zero-touch access, blockchain ownership management, and registration solutions. Veridify's security solution is ISO 26262 ASIL D certified, has a very small code footprint and can be implemented only in software, as shown on the RSL10's Arm®Cortex®-M3 processor. Security protocols built with Veridify tools run many times faster than traditional methods.

     For example, RSL10's authentication protocol typically runs in 28 milliseconds, which matches the energy saving benefits of RSL10. Solutions built with Veridify are ideal for Internet of Things (IoT) edge applications in the industrial, smart building, medical, automotive and consumer sectors.
