OmniVision introduces the world's first 0.7 micron /64 megapixel image sensor

     OmniVision has announced the launch of its latest image sensor, the OV64B. The OV64B is the industry's only 0.7-micron image sensor with 64 megapixel resolution, and is the first to achieve 64 megapixel resolution in 1/2" optical size. OV This new sensor will make the size of smart phones even slimmer.

     The OV64B sensor, combined with OmniVision's PureCel Plus stacked chip technology, supports 4K video recording with electronic image stabilization (EIS) and also supports 8K video at 30 frames per second (fps). The OV64B supports 3-exposure interleave HDR in up to 16 megapixel video mode and integrates a 4-in-1 color filter array and on-chip hardware pixel reassembly algorithm. In low light conditions, the sensor can output 16 megapixels with 4x sensitivity by combining adjacent pixels, providing 1.4 micron equivalent performance for preview and static capture. Supports 2x digital cropping zoom.

     In fact, at present, in the products of mainstream mobile phone manufacturers, it is relatively rare to see useful OV image sensors, not unlike the early years of Apple's use of this company's products on the iPhone. Most mobile phone devices now use more image sensors from SONY or Samsung, the recent release of smart phone products equipped with OV image sensor from Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth edition, the main camera is the OV48B 48 megapixel sensor of Haowei Technology, the hidden telephoto lens is OV08A10 (1/4.4 inch).
