OmniVision introduces wafer-scale camera module

     OmniVision announced the OG0VA image sensor and OC0VA CameraCubeChip wafer-scale camera modules, expanding its family of back-illuminated sensors. The VGA series features the industry's smallest pixel size of 2.2 microns, and the OC0VA is the first CameraCubeChip with Nyxel technology.

     These sensors feature OmniVision's PureCel Plus-S stacked pixel architecture and Nyxel NIR technology for consumer and industrial machine vision and 3D sensing applications, with global shutter technology helping to avoid motion blur, The system power consumption of the device is reduced by reducing infrared LED illumination in low and no light conditions.

     The OG0VA camera module has an optical format of 1/10 inch and an area of 2.69x3.04mm, providing 640x480 (VGA) resolution (240 frames per second) and 320x240 QVGA resolution (480 fps). The OC0VA CameraCubeChip combines this sensor with image signal processing and optics to form a 2.69 x 3.04 x 3.04mm wafer-level camera module. Higher MTF results in sharper images with higher contrast and finer detail. QE is 40% at 940nm and 60% at 850nm.
