
Osram has released a new Oslon Boost HM LED that makes ultra-thin headlight designs possible. In recent years, with the development of automotive lighting technology, light has become one of the important elements in modern automotive design. Small and bright light sources help create more compact and versatile headlights.
The miniaturization design of LED products is playing an increasingly important role in adaptive headlights, often referred to as curve lighting or matrix lighting. With the new Oslon Boost HM, OSram's developers have succeeded in achieving exceptional brightness of up to 415 lumens at 0.5 square mm chip area and 1.5 amps of current.
At the same time, the compact shape of the LED, measuring only 1.9 mm x1.5 mm x0.73 mm, provides a solution for achieving a small headlamp as wide as a finger while guaranteeing light output. In addition, the LED brightness of 255cd/mm² at 1.5 amp current, the performance is very good in the same type of LED.
In addition to the headlights, the new Oslon Boost HM can also be combined with other leds to provide the function of assisting the high beam. At the same time, thanks to its excellent brightness, the LED is also suitable for adaptive headlights based on MEM-S technology. Osram Opto Semiconductors builds on many years of packaging technology to create the new Oslon Boost HM. The ceramic package design based on thermoelectric separation technology makes heat dissipation easier, while the unique internal structure allows heat energy to be more easily removed from the LED. In addition, this new LED has a relatively low thermal resistance when emitting light, only 4.62K/W.
