PUI Audio's zero-power piezoelectric MEMS microphone is designed for ultra-low power alway listening solutions

     PUI Audio's PM-3738-VM1010-R is a single-ended analog MEMS microphone with power-on sound. The Wake up sound mode allows detection of sound activity while consuming only 5μA of power supply current (9μW of power supply). In wake up sound mode, sounds in the vocal cords above the level threshold immediately alert the processor to an audible event.

     The processor (DSP or voice processor) then switches the PM-3738-VM1010-R to normal mode and fully outputs the audio in 100 microseconds. Fast enough for the microphone to pick up the trigger sound and relay it for processing. This is the architecture for ZeroPower listening.

     Wake up sounds provide voice activation for battery-powered voice-interface consumer devices such as smart speakers, smart TV remotes, smart headphones, and iot smart home products while consuming almost zero power. PUI Audio's PM-3738-VM1010-R is the first MEMS microphone with sound enabled, bringing voice activation to a variety of battery-powered devices. In listening mode, PUI Audio's new piezoelectric MEMS microphone delivers less than 5μa of current, making it the only device that uses sound energy itself to wake up the system and shut it down completely.

     The PM-3738-VM1010-R features a configurable voice zone that allows voice to trigger the system in the 5 'to 20' radiant zone and increase to higher power mode. When the environment is quiet, the system can enter the Wake up with Sound mode with low power consumption.
