Pickering has launched its new high-voltage LXI scalable matrix platform in sizes up to 300x4

     Pickering, a leading manufacturer of signal switching and simulation solutions for electronic testing and verification, has introduced its new 65-218 series 50x4 single-pole LXI matrix card modules. These modules can be installed in Pickering's 65-200-002 LXI modular chassis to jointly build scalable high-voltage matrix platforms, providing matrices with cell sizes of 50x4 and total sizes of up to 300x4. This series of modules offers cold switching voltage of up to 400VDC or 750VDC (pulse 1kV), maximum current of 2A (switching and load) and switching power of up to 60W. This single pole matrix module uses high quality electromagnetic relays to provide long service life.

     The modular structure of the LXI extensible platform provides great flexibility -- more card modules can be added as needed, and control software automatically detects and identifies new configurations. The card can be inserted into the chassis through the front panel, which greatly facilitates unit configuration and maintenance. If one of the modules needs to be removed, the other modules can be left in the test system and kept working properly by external cable connections. The 400V version (65-218-101 series) uses the analog bus inside the 65-200 chassis to connect 50x4 card modules to build larger size matrices. The 750V version (65-218-111 series) uses external cables to expand the matrix. High-voltage 9-pin and 50-pin D-type connectors are used for front panel connection ports on all 65-218 series card modules.

     The 65-200 series platform provides built-in scan sequence storage with trigger function, which greatly improves the efficiency of the test system by loading predefined test sequences into the unit and automatically executing them.

     The design of the module is optimized to minimize the resistance of the channel. The resistance of each card channel is less than 200mΩ. This design helps reduce onboard power consumption and improve signal integrity. Thermal migration & lt; 4µV (typical value), may also be suitable for low signal level applications.

     Steve Edwards, Pickering's switching product manager, explains the new product: "With a case height of just 2U, the scalable high-voltage switching solution built using the 65-218 series 50x4 matrix modules minimizes the cabinet space required to test the system. Such high-voltage solutions are suitable for aerospace test application development as well as other industries such as automotive."

     In addition, Pickering offers a wide variety of support accessories, including Pickering's diagnostic tool, the built-in Relay Self-Diagnosis (BIRST) tool, and the switching system detection tool, eBIRST, to help users quickly and easily locate relay faults within modules. The new product, like all Pickering products, comes with a three-year warranty. In addition, Pickering offers a range of standard or customizable interconnected accessories for the 65-218 series modules.
