Pleora introduces the first video interface product line capable of operating in extreme environmental conditions

     Pleora Technologies, the world's leading provider of high-performance video interface products, has announced a new family of products that work in harsh environments to provide video connectivity. The industrial-grade iPORT NTx-GigE embedded hardware is used to provide GigE Vision video connection, and the external image capture card can convert the video images of Camera Link and HD-SDI cameras into USB3 Vision format. This allows manufacturers to simplify the design of highly reliable imaging systems that operate at -40°C to +60°C.

     Pleora's industrial-grade iPORT NTx-GigE embedded video interface hardware provides manufacturers with a fast, cost-effective, and low-risk way to integrate GigE Vision 2.0 video connectivity into imaging systems operating from -40°C to +60°C. This compact product measures just 37 mm (mm) x 37 mm x 28 mm and can easily be built into small cameras, flat-panel imaging devices and X-ray detectors. This product consumes less than 2W of power, yet fully supports frame-by-frame metadata transfer and the IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol to provide accurate image acquisition capabilities.

     Pleora's industrial-grade external image capture cards allow manufacturers to take advantage of the product's high bandwidth and ubiquitous computing power, as well as the USB3 Vision's simple and plug-and-play connectivity, to create imaging systems that can operate in environments ranging from -40°C to +60°C.

     The iPORT CL-U3 external image capture card delivers video from a Base or Medium mode Camera Link with low and predictable latency over a USB 3.0 link. The interface on the workstation side is a standard USB 3.0 port, so you can use low-power small computing platforms including laptops, embedded computers and single board computers, rather than using desktop computers.

     The iPORT HDSDI-U3 external image capture card converts images from HD-SDI and SD-SDI cameras, video processors, and systems into uncompressed USB3 Vision video signals, which are then delivered directly to existing ports on multiple processing platforms with low and predictable latency via a separate USB 3.0 line. As a result, manufacturers can reduce system costs by using laptops, embedded computers, and single board computers for image processing.
