Power Integrations introduces SCALE-2 plug and play gate drivers

    Power Integrations, an innovator in gate driver technology for medium and high voltage inverter applications, introduces the 1SP0351 SCALE-2™ single-channel +15/-10V plug and play gate driver, The new product was developed specifically for the new 4500V crimped IGBT (PPI) modules from manufacturers such as Toshiba, Westcode and ABB. The new gate driver is based on the widely used SCALE 2 chipset for Power Integrations and is ideal for high-reliability applications such as HVDC VSC, STATCOM/FACTS and MVD.

     The 1SP0351 driver is equipped with dynamic Advanced Active Clamp function (DAAC), short circuit protection, onboard DC-DC power supply, secondary +15V open voltage regulation, DC-DC overload monitoring, and power supply voltage monitoring. In addition, active Miller clamping features are available. Compared to traditional solutions, the SCALE-2 ASIC chipset uses sophisticated digital control algorithms that reduce the number of components by up to 85%, thus significantly improving reliability.

     Designed for ease of use, the 1SP0351 drive features plug-and-play functionality to speed up commissioning and enable immediate use after installation. The drive is also equipped with a simple two-pin power plug, which helps simplify operation, and the triple resistant paint also enhances the durability and reliability of the product.
