Power Integrations has introduced a new switching power IC, LinkSwitch™-TNZ, which integrates off-line power conversion, lossless zero crossing detection, and optional X capacitor discharge in a compact SO-8C package. Available for non-isolated step-down and step-up power supply applications with output currents up to 575mA

     Power Integrations recently announced the launch of a new switching power supply IC product-Linkswitch-TNZ, which integrates offline power transformation, no loss of zero-point detection, optional X in a compact SO-8C package, which is a compact SO-8C package. The capacitor discharge function can be used for non-isolation and antihypertensive-boosting power supply applications with an output current of up to 575mA.     Electric lamp switches, lightingters, sensors, and plugs use relay or thyristor to connect and disconnect with AC lines. The separation circuit is usually used to detect the excessive zero point of the AC input to control the access switching of the main power device, while reducing the switching loss and the surge current. However, this method requires a lot of components, and it consumes a lot, and in some cases, it will consume almost half of the standby power budget. Similarly, home appliances usually use separate zero -point detection circuits to control the timing of the motor and microcontroller. These applications also require auxiliary power supply to power the wireless connection, door drives, sensors and monitors.

 

     Linkswitch-TNZ IC provides first-class light load efficiency, supports power supply for more system functions, while at the same time meets strict standby standards. For example, the home appliance standard (1275) of the European Commission (EC) requires the power consumption of the equipment in the standby or turning off mode must not exceed 0.5W; The standby power consumption of the device is limited to below 0.5W; and China's national standard GB24849 requires restricting the power consumption in the microwave furnace offset mode below 0.5W. Compared with separate component design, the number of components of the Linkswitch-TNZ scheme can be reduced by more than 40%.

 

     In addition, for high -power applications, the X capacitor discharge function available in the product (LNK331X) packaging can be used to reduce the PCB board space, reduce the number of BOM components and improve reliability. The Linkswitch-TNZ switching power supply IC can provide ± 3%adjustment accuracy under various input voltage and loads. The air load consumption of the air load when using the external bias is less than 30mW, and the IC's waiting current is lower than 100µA. The new device scheme is simple and easy to use, has an integrated soft startup function, and is suitable for isolation and non -isolation topology.
