The seven-way output Automotive Power Management IC(PMIC) supports the direct supply of battery voltage, the output voltage and power-on timing can be set by register, and the on-chip integrated functional safety mechanism allows the size of the ECU for automotive vision systems and other on-board applications to be smaller and more reliable.

     The seven-way output Automotive Power Management IC(PMIC) supports the direct supply of battery voltage, the output voltage and power-on timing can be set by register, and the on-chip integrated functional safety mechanism allows the size of the ECU for automotive vision systems and other on-board applications to be smaller and more reliable.

 

     With seven regulated outputs, a single L5965 chip CAN drive all the functions of a camera-based or radar-based driver assistance system, including sensors, memory, processor and CAN interface circuits. The output voltage and power-on timing Settings are stored in one-time programmable (OTP) memory, giving designers the flexibility to configure the PMIC to meet the needs of a variety of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and other in-vehicle applications.

 

     The L5965 can draw power directly from the vehicle battery without the need to connect the pre-voltage regulator module at the input front. The function of register setting output voltage replaces the external voltage setting resistor. The on-chip regulator operates without an external compensation circuit. The benefits of reducing external components go beyond reduced packaging area and bill of material costs, and eliminate performance fluctuations in external components due to environmental impacts, thereby improving system reliability and accuracy.

 

     The integrated functional safety technology complies with ISO 26262 standards, ensuring that the system meets the Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL) requirements of ASIL-D. Safety mechanisms include fault state pins, voltage monitors, ground detection comparators, analog and digital circuit internal self-test (BIST) functions, and temperature monitors.
