Qorvo introduces a high-performance n41 subband 5G BAW filter

Qorvo, a leading provider of RF solutions for mobile, infrastructure and aerospace and defense applications, announced the launch of a high-performance n41 subband 5G bulk acoustic wave (BAW) filter, the QPQ1298, for base station infrastructure, small base stations and Repeaters. Qorvo's latest BAW filters combine low insertion loss with excellent out-of-band rejection in a compact size. The product is available now to support the rapid deployment of 5G infrastructure around the world.

The Qorvo QPQ1298 filter delivers the higher frequencies and bandwidths required for 5G high data capacity in rural, suburban and densely populated urban areas. It covers frequencies from 2.515 to 2.674 GHz and has near-band attenuation greater than 45 dB to meet demanding Wi-Fi coexistence requirements. The QPQ1298 comes in a compact 2 mm x 1.6 mm package for easy assembly.

Dan McNamara, principal analyst at Mobile Experts, Inc., said: "Filtering has always been a key element of RF design in crowded spectrum, but Band 41's wide bandwidth and adjacency to the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band is particularly challenging, requiring high-performance filters with low plug loss and steep band edges to allow coexistence of 5G and Wi-Fi cellular operating bands."

The QPQ1298 BAW filter is now in production and has the following features:

● n41:160 MHz bandwidth

● High out-of-band attenuation and low plug loss combined with excellent Wi-Fi suppression

● Compact surface mount design: 2.00 x 1.60 x 0.73mm

● RoHS standard, no lead process
