Qorvo introduces the industry's highest performance wideband GaN power amplifier

     Qorvo introduces the world's highest performing broadband power amplifier (PA), the TGA2962. Designed specifically for communication and test instrumentation applications, the power amplifier introduced today by Qorvo boasts several performance breakthroughs: It delivers industry-leading 10 watts of RF power in the 2-20 GHz frequency range as well as a large signal gain of 13dB and a power addition efficiency of 20-35%. This combination gives system designers the flexibility they need to improve system performance and reliability while reducing component count, footprint, and cost.

     Roger Hall, General Manager of Qorvo's High Performance Solutions Business unit, said: "Qorvo has taken a major step forward in broadband with the TGA2962, not only expanding the frequency range, but also enhancing other performance. No other company currently offers a single power amplifier with this type of output power, bandwidth, power-added efficiency, and large signal gain."

     The TGA2962 is built on Qorvo's highly reliable gallium nitride (GaN) QGaN15 process technology with industry-leading features. In addition, improved component integration and 13dB large signal gain support for small driver amplifiers further reduce device size, which is a good solution for applications requiring improved size, weight, power and cost (SWAP-C).
