Qorvo launches the industry's first integrated front-end module

     Qorvo, a leading provider of RF solutions for mobile, infrastructure and aerospace and defense applications, has introduced the industry's first integrated Front-End module (iFEM), the QPF7219. When integrated into a Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) system, the module provides reliable network coverage throughout the home. iFEM combines Qorvo's advanced BAW filter technology with its unique edgeBoost (or flat power) function to nearly double Wi-Fi coverage and nearly triple capacity to support more devices.

     According to the Wi-Fi Alliance, the number of wirelessly connected devices worldwide could reach 50 billion by 2022. The Qorvo QPF7219 iFEM uses 2.4GHz Wi-Fi full bandwidth, making it perfectly suitable for smart homes and offering a wider range of FCC compliance than competing products.

     The QPF7219 integrates a 2.4 GHz power amplifier (PA) with a power detector, an FCC edgeBoost™ BAW filter, a regulator, a transmit/receive switch, and a low noise amplifier with bypass function in a single device. This eliminates the need for 20 table mount assemblies in a 4x4 configuration and reduces the printed board area by 40% compared to standalone solutions.
