
Qualcomm Technologies announced the launch of Qualcomm Quick Charge technology for wireless charging, bringing the company's years of fast charging technology innovation to the wireless charging industry, and enabling consumers to quickly, safely and efficiently charge their terminals wirelessly.
More than 1,000 commercial mobile terminals, accessories and components compatible with Quick Charge technology provide fast, consistent mobile charging while supporting unique safety and smart features that minimize transmission losses and heat accumulation in terminals and maximize battery life. This protects endpoints and improves the user experience.
Although wireless charging has become a popular way to charge, these products still struggle to achieve consistent charging speed and efficiency. In addition, some wireless charging products have claimed to support Quick Charge without passing the compliance certification process required by Quick Charge. In response to the above situation, Qualcomm Technologies has expanded the Quick Charge compliance certification program to include wireless charging boards that support Quick Charge technology.
This expansion includes forward and backward compatibility and helps enable efficient power transmission, allowing transmitter manufacturers to truly enable wireless fast charging. The wireless charging pad that supports Quick Charge can be used with the Quick Charge 2.0, Quick Charge 3.0 and Quick Charge 4/4+ adapters used by millions of users in the home, office and other scenarios. UL, a global safety science company that spearheads the existing Quick Charge compliance certification program, will expand testing to include Quick Charge for wireless charging. In addition, Qualcomm Technologies also welcomed Vitron Electronics as the first component supplier to join the wireless charging program.
As part of the expansion of the Quick Charge Compliance Certification program, the additional testing is designed to ensure that Quick Charge and Qi interoperability deliver a seamless wireless charging experience for users. The Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) is the creator of the Qi international wireless charging standard and includes more than 650 member companies and more than 3,500 certified compliance products. Qi-certified terminals cover most of the world's best-selling smartphones, many of which are powered by the Qualcomm® Snapdragon ™ mobile platform, thousands of public charging stations in restaurants, hotels and airports, as well as accessories that can be purchased at traditional and online retail stores.
