Qualcomm's Snapdragon computing platform reshapes entry-level, mainstream, and top-of-the-line mobile PC products

     Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated. Announced the expansion of Qualcomm's Snapdragon  computing platform portfolio to enable fanless, lightweight modern computing devices with long-lasting battery life, high-speed cellular connectivity, and AI-accelerated performance. The portfolio takes into account and meets the growing consumer demand for device mobility. The new Snapdragon 7c, Snapdragon 8c, and previously released Snapdragon 8cx will provide high-speed cellular connectivity for entry-level, mainstream, and top-of-the-line laptops. Based on this product portfolio, terminal manufacturers can create always-on, always-connected PC products for consumers at different price segments. In addition, the networking security software and secure core PC supported by the Snapdragon 8cx Enterprise Compute Platform will help modern enterprises build a mobile office environment for their employees.

In addition, the Snapdragon 7c computing platform's integrated octa-core Qualcomm Kryo 468 CPU and Qualcomm  Adreno 618 GPU bring smooth performance and excellent battery life to entry-level products. The Qualcomm® AI Engine delivers more than 5 trillion operations per second (5TOPS) and supports the latest AI-accelerated experience in Windows 10. These highly anticipated features are the first of their kind in the entry-level PC category.

     Compared to the Snapdragon 850, the advanced 7nm Snapdragon 8c computing platform delivers up to a 30% performance boost, with stronger CPU performance to better meet multitasking and productivity needs. The Snapdragon 8c computing platform delivers smartphone-like instant response and multi-day battery life, and its integrated Snapdragon X24 LTE modem supports the multi-gigabit connection speeds required for smooth cloud computing. The Qualcomm AI Engine in the Snapdragon 8c can achieve 6 trillion operations per second (6TOPS) to accelerate machine learning applications, and the powerful GPU also supports excellent graphics processing capabilities. All of these features enable ultra-thin, fanless designs optimized for mainstream use cases.
