RECOM extends the rated current range of the non-isolated switching regulator RPMH

     RECOM's "3D PowerPackaging" enables an increase in current in the RPMH high input voltage switching regulator range without an increase in size. RECOM, an industry leader in power conversion, has expanded the rated current range of its non-isolated switching regulator RPMH from 0.5A to 1.5A with no increase in size, leveraging the company's expertise in 3D power packaging. The highly efficient device comes in a compact 12.19 x 12.19 x 3.75mm package with adjustable outputs for nominal 3.3V, 5V, 12V, 15V and 24V outputs. Each type can have an input range of up to 60VDC and an operating temperature of up to 100°C (without derating), or more when power is reduced.

     Features include on/off control, remote sensing, power normal signals and comprehensive protection against output short circuits, overcurrent and overvoltage. The product meets the EN55032 Class B EMI limit using a simple external filter.

     With RECOM's 3D PowerPackaging technology, the RPMH-1.5 advances in power handling, resulting in a 25-pad LGA package with six-sided shielding for optimal EMC and thermal performance. Evaluation boards are available to test performance and all functions.

     "We've tripled the current rating for the RPMH series," commented Matthew Dauterive, RECOM DC/DC product Manager. "This improvement opens up a wider range of applications for the product. The wide input range of up to 60V is particularly attractive for applications such as 48V systems or automobiles where high voltage surges can occur.
