RECOM introduces the R-78E Series of switching regulators with the highest cost performance

     RECOM is one of the first companies in the power industry to manufacture and sell high-efficiency switching regulators. After years of development starting with the 78 Series replacing the separate TO-220 package linear regulator, the R-78 series now includes the 78E economy version, ideal for cost-sensitive applications.

     The R-78E series is a reliable switching regulator at an attractive price. The series modules are up to 91% efficient and offer 3.3V and 5V, as well as the newly expanded 12V output voltage. No additional heat sink is required and the rated output current is 1A (continuous) /2A (peak) at operating temperatures up to 60°C and 0.6A at 85°C. All modules in this series have an input voltage range of up to 28V.

     The R-78E series has 30% lower losses than other products in its class, enables cooler operation and higher reliability, and a "pulse jump" mode maintains high efficiency at light loads. The module has much lower conducted and radiated noise than other products on the market and requires only A small LC input filter to comply with EN 55032 Class A or B emission standards. The R-78E series has a package size of 11.6 x 8.5 x 10.4mm (L x W x H).

     The series has complete protection features, including cycle current limit, short circuit protection, output overvoltage limit and automatic soft start to reduce surge current.
