RECOM introduces two new cost-effective switching regulators

     RECOM introduces two new series of cost-effective switching voltage regulators - RPMGQ-20 and RPMGS-20. Both are open, through-pass non-isolated DC/DC step-down converters with 18V-75V inputs. Optional nominal output is 5V or 12V, adjustable in a wide range of 3.3V to 8V and 8V to 24V respectively. Rated output current is 20A; The RPMGQ-20 comes in an industry-standard 1/4 brick package, while the RPMGS-20 comes in an emerging 36.83 x 34.04mm package with standard 1/16 brick output pins. Both products have a maximum height of 15mm from the mounting surface.

     Both products have very high conversion efficiency, with peak efficiency of 98% for the 12V output version and 94% for the 5V output version, and the efficiency curve is almost flat above 10% load. The converter provides ON/OFF control and remote voltage detection feedback with complete input undervoltage, output overcurrent, short circuit and overheating protection.

     All models are capable of full load ambient temperatures above 90°C and derated temperatures up to 120°C with air flow.
"With their high operating temperature capabilities, these ultra-efficient DC/DC converters are ideally suited as point-of-load converters (POL) for demanding distributed power architectures," said Matthew Dauterive, DC/DC product Manager at RECOM.
