RECOM introduces two step-down switching regulators with wide input and output ranges

RECOM announced the launch of two step-down switching regulators with a wide input and output range. Inside the module is an over-mode package of flip-chip on lead frame (FCoL) with integrated shielding inductors for low EMI and excellent electrical and thermal performance. The converter has an input voltage range of 4 to 36VDC and an adjustable output voltage range of 0.8 to 30VDC, set by an external resistor. Tpx-1.0 and TPX-1.5 have rated currents of 1A and 1.5A respectively, full load efficiency of 87%, and very low light load loss. Depending on the input/output voltage and load, the peak efficiency can exceed 95% and the operating temperature exceeds 100°C.

RECOM partnered with a global outsourcing semiconductor assembly and test company (OSAT) to expand its cost-effective range of power modules. The RPX-1.0 and RPX-1.5 series step-down converters are available in miniature sizes of 3mm x 5mm x 1.6mm and feature a heat-enhanced QFN package as well as innovative 3D packaging technology. The module has perfect short-circuit, over-current, over-mild input undervoltage protection functions, and also provides enable, power good, soft start and external synchronization functions. To speed up the testing process, RECOM also offers RPX evaluation boards so customers can test quickly and easily.
