
Rohm has developed AC/DC converter *2IC "BM2P06xMF-Z series (BM2P060MF-Z, BM2P061MF-Z, BM2P063MF-Z)" with built-in 730V voltage resistant MOSFET*1 for the field of home appliances and industrial equipment equipped with AC power supply, such as air conditioning, white goods and FA equipment.
In recent years, the AC/DC converters in the field of household appliances and industrial equipment should not only support the AC input of 85V ~ 264V to deal with the AC voltage around the world, but also comply with the Energy efficiency standard "Energy Star3" and safety standard "IEC 62368" as a whole power supply, so the power supply system needs to be constructed from an international perspective. Among them, for AC/DC converter IC, not only to meet these requirements, but also need to use table mount package form, in order to reduce the plant installation cost. However, in fact, the DMOSFET and Planar MOSFET that produce a lot of loss and heat are still widely used in the AC/DC converter IC. Even the table mount package products are difficult to meet the output power requirements of tens of watts. To address these issues, ROHM has developed a new product with 45W output power, which has been integrated with low-loss SJ-MOSFET and optimized control circuits in a small mount package.
The new product is an integrated IC that integrates ROHM's low-loss power semiconductor (Super Junction MOSFET) and control circuits, making it easier to develop AC/DC converters with AC input ranging from 85V to 264V and output power up to 45W. The new product uses the table mount type package, realizes the past difficult circuit board automatic installation; Moreover, the specially developed control circuit can also meet the IEC 62368*4 standard when the discharge resistor at the power input (the loss source in standby) is cancelled. At the same time, ROHM's own low standby power control technology is used to significantly reduce standby power consumption. Not only that, the highest operating supply voltage (VCC) can be up to 60V, without the need for an external power circuit for step-down. Support for automatic installation will help reduce plant installation costs, while also reducing standby power consumption by more than 90% and reducing the number of power circuit components by four, helping to improve energy conservation and reliability, compared to common products of the same performance.
