ROHM offers a new generation of single-channel and dual-channel 40V Intelligent (intelligent) low-side switches :BV1LExxxEFJ-C and BM2LExxxFJ-C series. These two product lines are ideal for automotive and industrial applications. They are AEC-Q100 certified for body control, engine and transmission control units, LED lighting modules or industrial PLCS.
The company developed a dedicated smart power supply process in 2014, which met market demand early on. Combining innovation, energy saving technology, process optimization and simulation design experience, the company offers an extensive high-performance product lineup. Integrated overtemperature, overcurrent and overvoltage protection, built-in diagnostic capabilities and microcontroller feedback enhance performance and reliability, with excellent longevity and reliability over discrete solutions.
The product integrates all of the above functions to switch the current of resistive, capacitive or inductive loads. When the inductive load is cut off, the power mosFeTs inside the smart switch must consume all the magnetic energy previously stored in the inductive field. During this time, the device protects itself by actively clamping the voltage to a safe level. The dissipated power generates heat distributed over the surface of an integrated power MOSFET. Its new product is the industry's first to combine thermal suppression with low ON resistance to achieve compact size by using proprietary TDACC circuit and device technology that optimally controls the number of carrier channels.
TDACC offers enhanced integration capabilities that enable it to report the industry's first dual-channel 40mOhm (ON resistor) product in a compact SOP-J8 package. A wide range of on resistance values (40/80/160/250mOhm) are available in single and dual channel configurations to suit different customer needs. Moreover, all products in the family have higher contact discharge capacitance limits than other standard products. This adds a safer operation in different electronic device types. Applications include a wide range of automotive and industrial system applications.
