Rack-mounted high voltage DC power supply up to 60kV is available

     XP Power has officially announced a rack-mounted high voltage DC power supply that delivers up to 60kV. Designed for laboratories and equipment manufacturers, this 1200W high voltage power supply EY series features flexible embedded controls, low ripple and low noise, air insulation, fast response, tight regulation and extremely low arc discharge current.

     The EY series can be used in medical, industrial and general high voltage applications, with the most important applications being in vapor deposition, ion implantation, glow discharge, electrostatics, plasma sources, cyclotrons, X-rays and other vacuum tubes.

     The EY series includes 16 models with a range of 0-1KV to 0-60KV and an output power of 1200W. Typically, the ripple is less than 0.02%rms of the rated voltage at full load, and off-line pulse width modulation provides high efficiency and reduces the number of parts, thereby increasing product reliability. The first four models of the series each have reversible polarity, and the remaining models can be purchased as positive and negative polarity units.

     XP Power's EY series power supplies feature automatic crossover from constant voltage to constant current regulation to provide overload, arc and short circuit protection. The power supply's arc quenching function ensures that the high voltage output is suppressed for a short time after each load arc to aid in arc extinguishing, while remote analog and digital control via RS232 and USB functions provides flexibility for integration with customer systems. Similarly, optional Ethernet control offers the possibility of control and monitoring from a remote location.

     The EY series' workbench /2U rack mount format makes it suitable for test bench locations or integration with other devices in standard 19-inch racks, and features embedded microcontroller control, with the product's front panel digital encoder providing high-resolution voltage and current program adjustment. The product is versatile, capable of single-phase AC power operation in the 180 to 264V range, and meets the semiconductor S2-93 safety standards required for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
