Renesas Electronics RAA2S425x Sensor signal conditioner for vehicles

     Renesas Electronics RAA2S425x Automotive Sensor Signal conditioner optimized for automotive pressure sensing systems. The RAA2S425x device provides highly accurate amplification and sensor-specific correction of signals in automotive xEV, EV, and FCEV pressure-sensing braking, transmission, and HVAC systems. The RAA2S425x IC features highly integrated, advanced digital and analog capabilities that significantly simplify the design cycle, as well as reduce system BOM and production costs.

     The RAA2S425x IC supports all major pressure sensing technologies and features a high performance analog front end (AFE) for enhanced signal conditioning. These devices provide extended analog sensor mismatch compensation (XSOC) that can be adjusted for almost any resistance bridge. The RAA2S425x IC provides high precision (0.35% to 1.0%) pressure and temperature readings over a wide temperature range of -40°C to 150°C.

     The RAA2S425x IC integrates a 16-bit embedded RISC microcontroller to provide digital compensation for offset, sensitivity, temperature drift and nonlinearity. These devices feature highly reliable non-volatile memory (NVM) that stores calibration coefficients and configuration data in harsh automotive environments. The RAA2S425x device communicates digitally with the calibration equipment to reduce noise sensitivity.

     Digital calibration enables customers to keep assembly costs low because it does not require fine tuning of the sensing element. The RAA2S425x series integrates overvoltage and reverse polarity protection circuits, ISO26262 standard ASIL-B, excellent electromagnetic compatibility, and a variety of outstanding diagnostic features, making it the best solution for safe and harsh automotive applications.
