Renesas Electronics expands its lineup of 4G/5G RF clock communications products

     Renesas Electronics, a global provider of semiconductor solutions, announced the launch of three new low-phase noise, high-frequency RF clock solutions for 4G and 5G radio frequencies, as well as two new and successful product portfolios to expand Renesas Communications clock product lineup and meet the market demand for full-signal chain solutions. The new 8V19N850 RF clock synchronizer and 8V19N880, 8V19N882 JESD204B/C clock jitter attenuators provide ITU-T-compliant network clock synchronization, excellent low phase noise and high clock frequencies.

     The 8V19N850 RF Clock Synchronizer is the industry's first 5G RF sync integrated solution, with complete RF synchronization in a single chip. It also conforms to the full set of specifications such as ITU-T G.8273.2-T-BC /T-TSC Class C, ITU-T G.8262.1 Enhanced SyncE and JESD204B/C. The 8V19N850 can also recover clocks from CPRI/eCPR according to IEEE 802.1cm forward synchronization requirements, making it ideal for radio frequency units (O-RU) in emerging 5G O-RAN networks.

     The 8V19N880 and 8V19N882 JESD204B/C clock jitter attenuators provide excellent jitter performance with low phase noise and down to 74fs RMS and -90dB stray attenuation for mission-critical industrial data converter applications such as wireless communications, test and measurement, instrumentation, and high performance imaging. The new product supports frequencies up to 3932.16MHz (up to 6GHz when using an external VCO) and features 16 and 18 integrated differential outputs to deliver high performance, low voltage and low power balance at 1.8V operating voltage.

     The new products have been integrated into two new successful Renesas product portfolios designed to meet the growing demand for higher bandwidth for cellular services. Small cell base station and MIMO base station solutions use compatible devices to reduce risk and accelerate time to market. The new RF clock IC combines perfectly with Renesas microcontrollers and power management products to accelerate solution design.
