Renesas Electronics has announced a partnership with Silinx to jointly develop the Versal ACAP reference design

     Renesas Electronics, a leading global provider of semiconductor solutions, announced the launch of Power Solutions and clock solutions from its wholly owned subsidiary IDT. The Xilinx VCK190 evaluation kit for the Xilinx Versal Adaptive Computing Acceleration Platform (ACAP) and the Renesas VERSALDEMO1Z power reference board are supported. Based on 7nm process technology, Versal is the industry's first ACAP platform to meet the needs of a wide range of applications in the data center, automotive, 5G wireless, wireline and defense markets.

     The Xilinx VCK190 is the first evaluation suite for the Versal AI Core family, based on the VC1902 Versal AI Core Family of ACaps, providing the highest AI inference and signal processing throughput in the portfolio for cloud, networking and edge applications. The package has a complete clock solution, Includes 8A34001 ClockMatrix™ system synchronizer for IEEE1588 and eCPRI applications, 8T49N240/41 Universal Frequency Translators™ for low jitter and flexible transceiver SerDes clocks, And a programmable clock generator and clock buffer/multiplexer for PCIe interfaces. IDT's broad portfolio of industry-leading timing solutions meets all of Versal's timing requirements and features ultra-low phase noise to ensure robust, high-performance product designs.

     Renesas Electronics' VERSALDEMO1Z Power Reference board provides the complete power rail for Versal ACAP's adaptive engine, AI engine, scalar engine and external DDR memory. This complete power solution includes one product from the innovative ISL68xxx family of digital multiphase PWM controllers and several products from the ISL99xxx family of smart power level modules to provide efficient and scalable Vcore power supplies. The ISL91211A Power Management IC (PMIC) and DC-DC regulator are also included, bringing an integrated and optimized solution to the rest of the power tree.
