Renesas Electronics introduces the 32-bit microcontroller (MCU) RX13T product group

     Renesas Electronics announced the introduction of the 32-bit microcontroller (MCU) RX13T product group for efficient inverter control of compact motors for fans or pumps in consumer electronics and industrial applications, replacing the switch type control commonly used in traditional motors. These include energy-efficient plant equipment, such as cooling fans for drainage, water supply pumps and data servers; And battery-powered household appliances that require a longer operating time, such as power tools, vacuum cleaners, etc.

     The new RX13T product group integrates rich features optimized for single-motor inverter control, reduces the number of chip peripherals and offers a low pin count package, resulting in higher efficiency and lower BOM costs for motor control. The RX13T MCU is the first to run at 32MHz with A floating-point computing unit (FPU) (Note 1), and carries on the powerful features of the RX family of products such as inverter control timer (MTU3), 12-bit A/D converter, programmable gain amplifier (PGA), and data flash memory. Thus brushless DC motor control is realized on a single chip.

     The RX13T product group is the first in the RX product family to feature a compact 32-pin LQFP package and a 48-pin LFQFP package. There are also plans to release smaller 32-pin 5mm x 5mm and 48-pin 7mm x 7mm QFN packages. Highly compatible with existing products such as the RX23T and RX24T in terms of inverter timers and pin allocation, users can easily reuse existing hardware and software design resources.

     Renesas comes with an RX13T CPU card as part of the development environment and supports a 24V motor control evaluation kit (with motor). With emulator function, users do not need additional on-chip debugging emulator, just connect the CPU card to the PC via USB cable to quickly start the evaluation. In addition, sample code for Motor control for sensorless vector control is provided, and support for the Renesas Motor Workbench 2.0 Motor control development support tool is provided to help developers achieve rapid evaluation and development of motor control applications.
