Renesas Electronics introduces the R-IN32M4-CL3 IC for Industrial Ethernet communications

     Renesas Electronics, Inc., a leading global provider of semiconductor solutions, announced the introduction of the R-IN32M4-CL3 IC for Industrial Ethernet (IE) communications. Renesas' latest industrial networking offerings accelerate CC-Link IE time-sensitive networking (TSN), one of the communications standards supporting next-generation Ethernet TSN technology.

     As one of the first controllers to support CC-Link IE TSN, the R-IN32M4-CL3 meets the strict specifications of this standard, achieving time synchronization accuracy of less than one millionth of a second between devices. TSN support for applications such as AC servos, actuators, and vision sensors that require high-speed response control, as well as remote I/O, which is widely used in network communications.

     This allows users to achieve ultra-high speed and high precision motion control. TSN enables seamless interoperation between information technology (IT) networks and operational technology (OT) networks, allowing real-time changes to product models or yields while providing flexible support for manufacturing multiple product types in varying quantities, increasing overall plant efficiency and productivity.

     In addition to the driver software, Renesas will also provide the TCP/IP protocol software, CC-Link IE TSN protocol software and CC-Link IE Field protocol software required by developers. One of Renesas' partners, Tessera Technology, Inc. A set of evaluation boards will be introduced, while Renesas will provide an introductory manual to enable customers to immediately start the development of industrial equipment and quickly integrate new technologies.
