Renesas Electronics introduces the industry's first synchronization software based on a clear source code format

     Renesas Electronics announced the launch of the Precision Timing Protocol (PTP) Clock Manager software. As the industry's first Linux-based clock management software, it provides an easy-to-use and accessible synchronous clock solution for telecommunications networks such as 4G, 5G and open Radio Access networks (O-RAN), including forward and backpass systems.

     The IEEE1588-based PTP Clock Manager has an API that connects Renesas clock ics to a variety of network processors through the Linux standard PTP stack, enabling simultaneous PTP access for customers in different application scenarios without the need to spend a lot of time on customization. This time stamp unit (TSU) -independent approach gives customers access to the processor/clock combination of their choice without having to create their own API, reducing development costs and gaining greater design flexibility. When used with Renesas Clock solutions, customers receive a "free" license from PTP Clock Manager.

     The new Linux-based PTP Clock Manager can also be used with Renesas' ClockMatrix 8A3400x family of high-performance, high-precision, multi-channel clock products, as well as IEEE1588-compliant 82P339xx products to simplify the integration of telecom PTP solutions.
