Renesas Electronics introduces the new RA4M2 MCU product group of the Arm Cortex MCU family

     Renesas Electronics announced the launch of 12 new RA4M2 microcontroller (MCU) products to expand its RA4 series MCU lineup. The new product combines ultra-low power consumption, high performance and enhanced security, making it an ideal solution for industrial and iot applications.

     The RA4M2 MCU product family has excellent low power consumption with operating current of only 80µA/MHz in run mode, standby current as low as 0.7mA, and wake time of 30µs. Operating at up to 100MHz, the RA4M2 MCU is ideal for applications requiring high performance and low power consumption, such as industrial and iot edge devices.

     The RA4M2 MCU uses the Arm® Cortex®-M33 core based on the Armv8-M architecture, integrated with Arm TrustZone® technology and Renesas Secure encryption engine. The Secure encryption engine includes multiple symmetric and asymmetric encryption accelerators, advanced key management, secure lifecycle management, resistance to power analysis attacks, and tamper detection. This combination enables customers to implement secure chip capabilities to secure low-power applications such as iot edge devices.
