
Renesas Electronics, Inc., a leading global supplier of semiconductor solutions, and MinebeaMitsumi, a leading global supplier of stepper motors, announced the joint development of a rotary transformer (Angle sensor) -based stepper motor and motor control solution for robotics, office automation (OA) equipment, and automation. And medical/nursing equipment has been optimized. Renesas Electronics and MinebeaMitsumi have jointly developed stepper motors and motor control solutions based on rotary transformer sensors to meet the needs of higher precision control of motors, miniaturization and greater resistance to environmental impacts.
MinebeaMitsumi has a strong market track record in the field of rotary transformer sensors for vehicles and has first developed a new rotary transformer for stepper motors for consumer and industrial equipment applications such as robotics, office automation equipment and medical/care equipment. As the global market leader in 32-bit microcontrollers (MCUS) (Note 2), Renesas has developed a new rotary digitizer (RDC) that supports MinebeaMitsumi's new stepper motor, as well as driver software that enables RDC control via 32-bit RX MCUS. Renesas also brings the Rotary transformer-based stepper Motor Control Suite, which provides development tools, including MinebeaMitsumi stepper motors with rotary transformers, and evaluation boards with RDC, enabling users to quickly start application development.
