Renesas Quick Connect Studio is disruptive, giving designers the ability to develop hardware and software in parallel

Renesas Electronics announced new features and expanded product coverage for Quick Connect Studio, its cloud-based embedded system design platform. Quick Connect Studio allows users to graphically collaborate on hardware and software optimization to quickly validate prototypes and accelerate product development.

     Renesas Electronics announced new features and expanded product coverage for Quick Connect Studio, its cloud-based embedded system design platform. Quick Connect Studio allows users to graphically collaborate on hardware and software optimization to quickly validate prototypes and accelerate product development.

 

     Quick Connect Studio enables engineers to graphically drag and drop components and design modules on the cloud platform to create their own solutions. After each module is placed, users can automatically generate, compile, and build the base software, a major shift to a no-code development paradigm that makes building production-grade software as easy as splicing building blocks with little up-front learning or investment. Cloud computing power brings fast compilation capabilities, and an intuitive GUI reduces the learning curve. Quick Connect Studio automatically generates system software that can be iterated over hardware.

 

     Renesas will continue to expand this platform, giving users access to the growing portfolio of Renesas and its partners to help build prototype systems. Quick Connect Studio currently supports all Renesas RA MCU boards, as well as a wide range of Renesas wireless modules and sensors. Not only that, it also includes products from partners such as ams OSRAM, TDK and Arducam, further expanding the range of applications and designs supported. Quick Connect Studio now enables users to build more than 350 systems with Renesas MCUS and discrete boards. At the same time, Renesas is also working with more suppliers and partners to automatically integrate richer devices, to bring customers a more comprehensive product portfolio of support to meet their system design and construction needs.

 

     Renesas introduces real-time code customization and remote debugging capabilities for Quick Connect Studio users. The automatically generated code can be customized in real time in the browser application. With a wealth of remote circuit boards, code can be dynamically tested on target hardware to verify operations before purchasing or building physical boards and setting up test systems. This capability significantly speeds up the process of system proof-of-concept and system solution prototyping by designing the software and hardware components of the system in parallel.

 

     Renesas now offers multi-regional security infrastructure deployments worldwide for a consistent user experience, faster response times, and lower latency. This enables automatic scaling to accommodate multiple concurrent users accessing the platform anytime, anywhere.

     Sahil Choudhary, Director of Marketing at TDK, said: "With Quick Connect, Studio Renesas helps customers accelerate their proof-of-concept and production processes. Once integrated into this platform, customers can seamlessly integrate our MEMS 6-axis motion sensors with any Renesas RA MCU, generating production-ready code in minutes without having to delve into complex technical details."

 

     Renesas' Quick Connect Studio is part of Renesas Quick Connect, a standardized hardware platform with industry-common interfaces such as PMOD™, Arduino and MIKROE. With standard connectors, engineers can mix and seamlessly match MCUS, MPUs, sensors, and connection boards. In the future, users will be able to extend from Renesas to different partners, such as major cloud service providers, service integrators, and open source community leaders.
