Renesas's multi-core wireless microcontroller combines an application processor with a floating-point unit

     Renesas DA1470x is a multi-core wireless microcontroller series. It combines the latest Arm Cortex-M33 application processor with floating point units, advanced power management features, graphics processing units (GPUs) for advanced graphics processing, encryption security engines, analog and digital peripherals, dedicated sensor node controllers, and software configurable protocol engines with radios (compliant with Bluetooth 5.2 low energy (BLE) standards).

     The DA1470x is based on the Arm Cortex-M33 CPU, and has an eight segment memory protection unit (MPU), DSP expansion, and a single precision floating point unit (FPU) that provides up to 240 dMIPS. The special application processor executes the code from the external Octa/Quad SPI FLASH device equipped with the dynamic decryption engine through the 8 kB quad group association instruction cache controller. It has a software configurable BLE protocol engine (MAC) with an ultra-low power transceiver, which can provide+6 dBm output power and - 97 dBm sensitivity, and a total link budget of 103 dB.
