Rohde & Schwarz's R&S TS8980 completes first 5G RF conformance test certification

     Rohde & Schwarz's new 5G RF conformance test system, R&S "TS8980FTA-3A", the first test case certification for various FR1 and LTE band combinations, has been recognized by the global certification Forum GCF and the PTCRB certification organization. The solution is the latest version of a successful RF conformance test system and is the only solution on the market that supports mobile technologies from 2G to 5G on the same platform.

     Conformance testing is critical for mobile communications technology because mobile network operators worldwide rely on GCF and PTCRB certification schemes to authenticate mobile devices in their networks. This certification process also ensures that the updated version of the R&S TS8980 has been officially recognized by GCF and PTCRB as a 5G RF test standard suitable for the 3GPP specification.
