Rutronik provides RECOM's 5W AC/DC converter series

     High reliability in the face of severe contamination: By offering RECOM's RAC05-K/PD3/H, Rutronik's portfolio now includes a family of 5W AC/DC converters with Class II performance for PCB installation. This series has been developed specifically for stationary installations where higher levels of transient values consistent with overvoltage class III as well as increased ambient stress occur. This significantly reduces the need for external interference suppression components. These converters are used in smart grids, renewable energy applications, smart metering and iot systems, and monitoring devices in the food and beverage industry.

     These converters offer 5VDC or 12VDC, and 15VDC single output on demand, with extended electrical clearance to ensure OVC III standards are met up to 5000m sea level. Nominal input voltages are 100VAC to 277VAC and can withstand 480VAC without damage. This series of products is designed for use in the harsh environment of "level three pollution". In these environments, condensation of pollutants is likely to conduct electricity.

     The RAC05-K/PD3-H has comprehensive short circuit and overvoltage protection in the event of internal anomalies and meets EN 55032 Class B EMI radiation level (floating output) requirements without external components. The no-load power consumption is less than 0.5W, which conforms to the ecological design directive.

     These components come in a 2 "x 1" x 1 "high package with a maximum operating temperature of 70 °C for natural ventilation and 85 °C for 40% derated operation (12V module). This series of converters is also certified by IEC/EN 62368-1 and UL 61010-1.
