SCHURTER introduces the UMT-H surface-mount ceramic fuse series

     The superior quality of SCHURTER's UMT-H surface-mount ceramic fuses has now been added to the 40A and 50A models rated for breaking capacity up to 500A at 125VAC/72VDC. For the first time, the series offers overcurrent and short circuit protection and is compact, with a product size of only 5.3x16mm.

     The UMT-H series of fuses was developed to provide a smaller alternative to the 5x20mm through-hole mounting fuse tube, which is commonly used for main circuit protection. Currently, the UMT-H series covers 26 current ratings from 160mA to 50A. The maximum rated voltage is 277 VAC / 250 VDC, the rated current is up to 6.3A, and the rated breaking capacity is up to 1500A. The delay characteristics of the UMT-H series fuses allow them to withstand high inrush and pulse currents.

     The UMT-H series has evolved to include models with higher current ratings for secondary protection in battery-powered applications. Products are used in a wide range of areas, from engines to various emerging applications that rely on accumulators, as well as a variety of conventional applications. UMT-H provides a comprehensive ideal solution for a wide range of applications in the energy, data, medical, industrial control and automotive industries. The range is also impervious to conformal coatings, making it ideal for use in ATEx and IECEx certified equipment in hazardous environments.

     A variety of breaking capacity measurements were made for UMT-H according to specific welding widths. The allowable ambient temperature range is -55°C to 125°C. The large pad ensures optimal heat dissipation. The UMT-H is designed according to IEC 60127-7 and UL 248-14 standards and is VDE and cURus certified, as well as IEC, MIL-STD 202 and AEC-Q200 tested.
