ST STM32WL Nucleo-64 development board supports the world's first LoRa Soc

     STMicroelectronics (ST) STM32WL Nucleo-64 development board for the new MCUs of the STM32WL series. The STM32WL is the world's first wireless MCU to integrate a LoRa transceiver into its chip, meeting the requirements of various low-power wide-area network (LPWAN) wireless applications in the industrial and consumer Internet of Things (IoT) markets.

 

     The ST NUCLEO-WL55JC1 and NUCLEO-WLJC2 development boards provide design engineers an affordable and flexible way to try out new sub-GHz wireless communication concepts. Designers can use the STM32WL series of wireless MCUs to design prototypes and have the flexibility to choose from various combinations of performance, power consumption and functionality. These development boards support both Arduino Uno pins and ST morpho pins, and can easily expand the functionality of the STM32WL Nucleo open development platform with the help of various dedicated expansion boards. The STM32WL Nucleo-64 development board also integrates the STLINK-V3E debugger and programmer, which does not require a separate probe.

 

     The onboard STM32WL55JC MCU features two 32-bit Arm Cortex-M4/M0+ cores with 256 KB flash and 64 KB SRAM. The device's specially designed radio provides two power outputs (one up to 15 dBm and the other up to 22 dBm) and supports LoRa, (G)FSK, (G)MSK and BPSK modulation. The NUCLEO-WL55JC1 supports the 865 to 928 MHz high frequency band used in the Americas and Europe, while the NUCLEO-WL55JC2 supports the 433 to 510 MHz low frequency band used in Asia, enabling design engineers around the world to use the STM32WL in their designs.

 

     The STM32WL Nucleo-64 development board comes with the STM32WL comprehensive software HAL library and various packaged software examples provided by the STM32CubeWL MCU software package.
