ST has helped PulseOn launch the smallest wearable heart rate monitor on the market

     STMicroelectronics announced that its micro motion sensing and data processing chip has been adopted by PulseOn Corporation to develop the smallest and most accurate wearable heart rate monitor on the market, allowing sports and fitness enthusiasts to keep track of their heart rate anytime, anywhere.

     This slim, stylish wristband heart rate monitor has an intuitive interface design and is simple to build. It can accurately and continuously measure heart rate without wearing a heart rate band or chest strap, and complex algorithms can convert heart rate data into meaningful personalized information on demand.

     Numerous scientific experiments have demonstrated that in every possible scenario, from no physical movement to strenuous exercise with the highest cardiac load, ST's low-power, high-performance MEMS accelerometers enable PulseOn's heart rate measurement to maintain the same level of accuracy and reliability as the electrocardiograph.

     St's advanced accelerometers can effectively track arm movement and vibration, completely solving the noise problem in optical blood-flow detection. Therefore, the PulseOn heart rate monitor can distinguish between the actual heart rate pulse signal and the noisy signal generated by the arm movement. In addition, the accelerometer can determine the user's exercise level.

     The STM32L microcontroller ensures that each unit functions properly with the lowest power consumption. PulseOn developers take advantage of the STM32L's multiple flexible ultra-low power modes and optimize the power consumption of the heart rate monitor, allowing the microcontroller to complete tasks with the lowest power consumption at all times.
