STMicroelectronics and Microsoft signed a cooperation agreement to promote the development of smart home appliance controllers and Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Developers using STM32 microcontrollers (MCUS) can now take advantage of ready-to-use services provided by Microsoft Azure RTOS (Real-Time Operating System) to manage applications. The STM32Cube development ecosystem integrates development tools and software to support customer project development throughout the process, and fully supports Microsoft Azure RTOS for seamless connectivity. Legally deployed Microsoft Azure RTOS images are royalty-free on STM32 microcontrollers, including product prototypes and production merchandise.
Ricardo de Sa Earp, Vice president of ST MicroControllers, said: "The collaboration between STM32 and Azure RTOS is a powerful combination that will allow customers to better unleash their creativity. In addition, users can access Azure RTOS that seamlessly integrates with our Azure IoT platform through the STM32Cube development tool, which makes it easier and more convenient to cloud IoT endpoints and edge devices."
