STMicroelectronics has fully upgraded the capabilities of the STM32F0 Value series ARM® Cortex®-M0 microcontrollers. In order to increase support for cost-sensitive applications such as consumer electronics, smart meters, communication gateways and the Internet of Things, the new products add USB interfaces and increase flash memory capacity.
A total of six new products were introduced, targeting the 8-bit and 16-bit microcontroller markets. These new products extend the design flexibility of developers to meet a variety of needs with the same microcontroller architecture and introduce new products more quickly and efficiently. The STM32 microcontroller has more than 600 products with a variety of ARM Cortex-M processor cores, providing developers with a wide range of development support, and the introduction of new products further lowers the barrier to use of STM32 microcontrollers.
The new STM32F030CC and STM32F030RC Value series microcontrollers have 256KB of flash memory and are available in 48 and 64-pin LQFP packages. In addition, the existing four new STM32F070 Value series microcontroller products feature a USB 2.0 full speed transmission interface, Compatible with Battery Charger Detection v1.2 and Link Power Management (LPM) specifications for optimal energy efficiency and longer battery life.
The new features enhance the functionality of the STM32F0 Value series, providing designers with internal safety features, accurate internal oscillators, multiple Clock sources, and a calendar Real-Time clock (RTC) with an alarm clock for regular wake up (off/standby mode). Other important features include a 5-channel Direct Memory Access (DMA) controller, internal voltage regulator, 12-bit /1.0μs analog-to-digital converter, and universal communication interface. These include two I2C interfaces, six Universal Synchronous/Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter (USART) transceivers, and two SPI interfaces.
