ST's new 600V smart power module improves the energy efficiency and reliability of motor drive circuits for air compressors, pumps, fans and other appliances and industrial appliances. By locking in hard switching circuit drivers up to 20kHz, ST's smart power modules offer significant energy efficiency gains for a wide range of motor drive applications with output power from 300 watts to 3000 watts.
Building on the market success of ST's market-proven dual-in-line SLLIMM[1]™ series modules, the second generation can directly connect to a low-voltage microcontroller and mains powered motor, thus replacing up to 10 active devices. The second generation of the SLLIMM series is even better, not only with improved collector current strength, but also with new packaging technology that allows designers to use smaller heat sinks, further reducing application costs.
The second generation SLLIMM series features a new internal structure with only two high/low side drivers and several gully gate field cutoff IGBTs, resulting in the industry's best on-loss to switching loss ratio, as well as excellent robustness and EMI characteristics.
