STMicroelectronics 45 W QR USB PD adapter reference design is based on VIPerGaN50 and STUSB4761

STMicroelectronics EVLVIPGAN50PD 45 W USB Type-C Power Delivery 3.0 adapter is an isolated power supply based on VIPERGAN50. The VIPERGAN50 is the VIPER family of offline high-voltage converters with 650 V HEMT-powered GaN transistors designed for quasi resonant flyback converters, capable of delivering up to 45 W output power over a wide range. In the secondary side, in order to improve the efficiency of the system, the rectifier process based on SRK1001 adaptive synchronous rectifier controller is adopted. Again on the secondary side, the CC/CV regulation loop and USB Type-C PD interface of the drive power regulation stage are based on the STUSB4761 controller.

The evaluation board implements a robust adapter that provides protection against output overvoltage, output undervoltage, output overpower, and output short circuit. The reference design is based on STMicroelectronics semiconductors and helps designers develop adapters with a short bill of materials for a cost-effective and rapid design
