STMicroelectronics Releases New Software Package to Support Microsoft Azure RTOS Project Development on STM32 MCUs, Speeding Up Smart Product Development Cycles

    STMicroelectronics has increased its development support for next-generation smart IoT devices based on the Microsoft Azure RTOS platform, releasing the first software package in a series of feature-rich STM32Cube expansion packages for product R&D teams.

     STMicroelectronics and Microsoft announced in 2020 that developers can use the Azure RTOS suite directly from STMicroelectronics' STM32Cube ecosystem. Based on this collaborative program, the new software package provides additional application code examples to help engineers overcome common development challenges and reduce time to market. The packages are royalty-free and developers can use and customize code samples out of the box.

With the latest STM32Cube expansion pack, when customers develop new products running Azure RTOS, they can bring new products to market as quickly as possible.”

     The first software package in the series, X-CUBE-AZRTOS-H7, gives engineers a head start on developing projects using the highest-performance STM32H7 microcontroller (MCU) family in ST's STM32 MCU product family. STMicroelectronics will release similar software packages to support other STM32 MCUs in 2021.

     The STM32H7 series includes more than 100 single-core and dual-core products, and the processing performance has achieved the best results in the Arm Cortex-M processor MCU benchmark test, and has powerful graphics processing functions and hardware network security protection functions.
