STMicroelectronics VIPerGaN100 offline high voltage converter

     Designed for use in medium power quasi-resonant ZVS (zero voltage switch when switch on) flyback converters. It can provide output power up to 75W wide range, 100W European range, or front-end PFCS. The device integrates a complete set of features to provide an extremely flexible and easy-to-use chip that can help design efficient off-line power supplies.

     ZVS quasi-resonant operation has dynamic blanking time characteristic and valley synchronization function, which can always turn on the power switch at the valley value of drain resonance. It also maximizes overall efficiency and reduces switching losses under any input line and load conditions. Advanced power management with low static current helps achieve low standby power consumption. The feedforward compensation minimizes the maximum output peak power variation over the entire input voltage range.

     The STMicroelectronics VIPerGaN100 also has protective features that significantly improve the safety and reliability of the final product. These include output overvoltage protection, overheat protection (OTP), overload protection (OLP), and power on/power off protection. These set the input voltage level for the converter to power on and off. Input overvoltage protection (iOVP) protects the system in the event of an abnormal increase in input lines. All protection functions are in self-starting mode.
