
STMicroelectronics introduces the latest generation of Qi wireless super fast charge chip STWLC88. Available in 4.0mm x 4.5mm x 0.6mm 110 ball 0.4mm pitch WLCSP package. The output power of the new product is up to 50W, which can meet the needs of consumers who can quickly supply power to personal electronic products such as mobile phones, tablets and laptops without plugging in, and is comparable to wired charging in terms of safety and charging speed. In mobile phone wireless charging applications, ST's new generation of 50W wireless charging IC is twice as fast as the previous generation of products.
To provide secure, high-power wireless charging for personal electronic devices, products must address a number of design challenges and challenges, including energy efficiency, communication reliability, foreign object detection (FOD), and protection against overheating, overvoltage, and overcurrent. As a senior member of the Wireless Charging WPC Alliance, ST has been providing design solutions based on the industry standard Qi wireless charging system platform for many years, leveraging patented hardware, advanced signal processing algorithms and the proprietary ST SuperCharge (STSC) protocol to overcome these technical challenges beyond the scope of the standard. By combining these technical strengths, the STWLC88 and STWBC2 digital controller combination provides a full-featured transceiver solution that enables ST customers to efficiently and securely implement high-power wireless charging while complying with the Qi wireless charging specification.

In order to significantly reduce external bill of material costs, the STWLC88 has a variety of circuits integrated internally, making it ideal for integration into a variety of applications where PCB area requirements are stringent. The STWLC88 complies with the WPC Qi 1.2.4 EPP requirements and is fully compatible with all Qi EPP certified transmitters on the market. All in all, the new features of the STWLC88 are essential to improve charging performance and safety, making it ideal for medium to high power wireless charging applications.
