STMicroelectronics digital controller is designed to control ZVS non complementary active clamp flyback converter

     STMicroelectronics' ST-ONE is the world's first digital controller to embed an Arm Cortex-M0+ kernel, an offline programmable controller with synchronous rectifier capabilities, and a USB-powered (PD) PHY in a single package. The system is specifically designed to control ZVS non-complementary active clamp flyback converters to create high power density battery chargers and adapters with USB-PD interfaces.

     The ST-ONE device includes an active clamped flyback controller and its HV boot on the primary side. The microcontroller and all peripherals required for control conversion and USB-PD communication are included in the secondary side. The two sides are connected through embedded electrical isolation dual communication channels. By using novel non-complementary control techniques and specially designed power modes, the device achieves high efficiency and low no-load power consumption. The device is delivered with pre-loaded firmware that can handle USB-PD power conversion and communication protocols, including optional PPS and electronically tagged cable management. The dedicated memory stores the default device configuration in the factory process. Users can change or adjust this storage area to fit the final product specifications
