STMicroelectronics' evaluation platform helps develop and test Bluetooth Low Energy applications

     The STMicroelectronics evaluation platform uses a low-power BlueNRG-LPS System-on-chip (SoC) that combines inertial and ambient MEMS sensors, digital MEMS microphones, and a variety of interface buttons and leds to help develop and test BLE applications.

     The BlueNRG-LPS features a 64 MHz, 32-bit Arm Cortex-M0+ core, 192 KB programmable flash memory, 24 KB SRAM, MPU, and a wide range of peripherals (4x PWM, I²C, SPI/I2S, SPI, USART, LPUART, and 12-bit ADC SAR). It conforms to the BLE specification and supports primary and secondary actors (or both), data length extension, 2 Mbps, long distance, extended advertising and scanning, channel selection algorithm #2, GATT caching, LE ping, LE power control and path loss monitoring, and direction finding (arrival/departure Angle).

     Serial communication with the PC and three power options (USB-only, battery-only, and external power) allow complex application development and bring testing flexibility
