
STMicroelectronics' ST25TV512C and ST25TV02KC electronic tags uniquely integrate NFC Type5 attributes with the enhanced NDEF(NFC Data Interchange Format) standard and tamper detection on a single chip. Let developers use NFC contactless communication technology to develop applications such as enterprise consumer interaction, brand identity, supply chain management and access control.
The new ISO/IEC 15693 compliant NFC Type5 tag responds to exchange information requests from smartphones and 13.56MHz remote RFID readers, locally exchanging NDEF messages without the need for a mobile application. In addition, the enhanced NDEF format allows dynamically updated information such as tamper-proof status or personalized urls to be added to NDEF messages. Up to six different properties can be configured and attached to the message, including a unique touch code (UTC) that makes the message unique and dynamic every time the tag is touched.
The ST25TV02KC-T adds tamper detection capabilities over the previous two products, allowing developers to take advantage of the flexibility of enhanced NDEF communication to develop applications that require verification of asset integrity. All products have the most advanced protection features, including 64-bit encrypted passwords with attack failure counters to effectively ensure data security; The TruST25 digital signature function can be used to verify the authenticity of the chip; Untraceable and termination modes are used to protect user privacy.
Developers using the ST25TV512C and ST25TV02KC tags can take advantage of ST's well-established ST25 development ecosystem, including a variety of software libraries, routines and reference designs, to bring high-quality solutions to market quickly.
Based on ST's NFC technology research and development experience, these tags have the advantages of long communication distance and reliable connection. In addition, chip capacitance remains the same compared to previous generation products, which helps simplify antenna design. With an operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C and integrated configurable EEPROM, the new tag has a data retention period of up to 60 years, the highest value available among major NFC vendors.
